Confidence, not Pride

Confidence is being comfortable in one's position. Pride is lording that position over another.

I'm not lording my position over another just by being excited over a little success that God has blessed me with. I'm so careful to guard against pride because I REALLY don't want the fall that comes with it. I have enough struggles and mess ups as it is to add that to my problems. But because I've been so careful about being prideful I've become consumed with insecurities. It's a chain that I can't seem to break. God is breaking it one link at a time for me. He's helping realize each time He breaks one of my insecurity chains where it came from and where my perceptions might be flawed.

I don't have to fear about being prideful when I've gained confidence about something because confidence is just being comfortable and sure in whatever I'm doing. Prideful is braggadocios and can be demeaning for others. But being comfortable and confident is good. Be comfortable. Don't beat about the bush or downplay your excitement when you’ve mastered whatever it is. It's ok to be excited and sound knowledgeable about what you've worked so hard to accomplish.

Obviously be careful about your tone when you deliver the news. Be careful that your motives for telling who you’re telling the news to are in line with how God would want you to treat that person. Be careful about how your demeanor changes when you’re about to say something about what you’ve done.

Monday Motivation: God doesn't want cowed Christian soldiers. He wants confident soldiers in His light and might. Through His truths we can all be confident in Him and be a mighty force to be reckoned with. Be willing to be brutally honest with yourself and allow yourself to see how God sees you based on His Word. You'll be amazed and fueled to do great things for His glory!!

Happy Monday!

Check out this post that I read recently!

I love seeing people give God the glory for their happiness and getting them through the disappointments in their lives. This is a senior who is missing out on her ‘lasts’ during the COVID19 social-distancing that's going on right now.

“Ok, I’m not one to usually post something, but this has been on my mind lately!

Joshua 1:9

“Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.”

This verse is the reason I’m getting through all of this! Right now we might not know what’s going on, but God does! He knows exactly when all this will end! I know at times it can seem like it’s hard to trust God, but that is what we have to do most of all! As a senior I know I don’t have it as hard as others do, but it’s definitely hurts knowing I won’t get all the lasts! One thing I’ve learned through all of this is to trust God! I can say before all of this I put God last! I would always say I’m too tired or I have too much homework or I had a late-night cheering I’m just going to go to bed! Now, I have all the time in the world to grow my relationship with God! I have had so much help from Kobe and My Bible study group! They have all motivated me to grow in my walk with Jesus! Since then I have found peace and joy in all of it! I see the good more than I do bad now! Before, I was so scared and anxious, but now I lean to God for help and clarity! I can now say I’m feeling the best I have ever felt in a long time! I’m way happier than I’ve ever been because I made the choice to trust God instead of worry!

Take some pointers from this senior and start putting God first in your life. You’d be amazed at what God could teach you, do for you, and just how much happier you would be! :)
